The bible states in Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) As a man thinketh in his heart so is he. What you think about in your unguarded moments reflects what your mind dwells on.
In Proverbs 4:23 we are told to guard our hearts for out of it flows the issues of life.
Jesus stated in Matthew 12:34 (KJV) …out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. The Moffatt translation states … the mouth utters what the heart is full of. The New Living Translation state…. whatever is in your heart determines what you say.
What you say when your guard is down is also an indication of what’s in your heart.
To keep your thoughts pure, you must guard what goes into your mind. Don’t allow the world to fill your mind with ungodly thoughts which in turn produces ungodly thinking. The things you allow your mind to dwell on will be revealed by the way you live.
Today we live in a world that is full of fear, mistrust, and unbelief. Things have become so blurry, but pay attention to your thoughts. If you focus on negative things the outcome of your thought process will be negative and it will affect your life.
If you allow unholy thoughts to fill your mind you will live out ungodliness. If you fill your mind with thoughts of Christ you will become Christlike. Choose today who you pledge your allegiance to. Will you serve or give yourself to the things of this world or the things of Jesus Christ?
Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV) ……. I, call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you, life and death, blessing and cursing: choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Choose to be more like Christ and live out, Philippians 4:8 Finally, brother in whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are noble, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there was any praise to think on and meditate on these things.
Today, choose to ponder, meditate and think on God’s truth which is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of a good report. Don’t meditate on what the world is doing and saying!
